I am the owner of Preferred Travel and have been organizing specialty travel vacations for over 30 years.  Our staff of 4 consultants have experience, knowledge and personal contacts around the world to help create special memories for the vacation traveler. Invitations to private homes, weddings in Bali, Grand Ball in Venice during Carnival, private tours in museums are just a few examples of our services.  Preferred Travel is the exclusive US representative for Divine Yachts of Greece with personal experience to suggest a tailor made vacation cruising the Greek Islands. We understand your time is valuable.  While you may enjoy sorting through various websites and get some wonderful insight to destinations it can make your mind spin into overload. Chances are, we have been where you want to go and can help. 1. Travel Expertise
Travel agents are specialists in all sorts of destinations and travel types.  For instance, you may not care where your cabin is on a cruise (you’re not in it much anyway, right?).  But would you think about going to a resort and get a room without even a window?  Or what if your cabin is under the disco and you aren’t the party animal you thought.   A good travel consultant, a real travel specialist is like your family doctor.  Through knowing your likes/dislikes, getting to know you as a person rather than an internet number, travel professionals can put together an awesome unique itinerary that most consumers only dream about.

2. How valuable is time?
Many people come to us after doing research online.  They spend days or weeks on really neat sites like TripAdvisor, AOL, Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, and the other millions of sites Google sends to you.  All of these are really great; but smart consumers will want to talk to someone about a trip.  A real, live person to look after all the details.  People can save themselves the headache (likely a migraine) and let a travel professional do the work. They should concentrate on packing and bringing the right amount of clean underwear.

3. Options
If you’re like me, you love to pick from lists.  You love options.  Travel professionals offer options and prices from travel suppliers worldwide, giving you the ability to make your own travel decisions.   All we ask is to be upfront.  If you have already done some research, share that with your travel professional so time is not wasted duplicating research.  Be realistic with your budget and your time. 

4. Value
Not “Cheap” but value. If you want cheap, then sure, hit the web and take risks. In life and especially in travel, you get what you pay for!  An experienced travel professional wants your business not just for a “one-time” stand but for the long haul.  They want you to come back happy and ready to work together for future trips.  By booking locally, you are contributing to your community’s economic future.  When it’s time for donations or fund raisers by a local community organization, your local travel professional is ready to help.  Try asking for a donation from Expedia or Travelocity.
